How to Convert Decimals to Fractions
Method using powers of 10 and GCD reduction:
STEP 01
Count Decimals
Count number of digits after decimal point (n).
STEP 02
Set Denominator
Place number over 10ⁿ (e.g. 0.375 → 375 / 1000).
STEP 03
Find GCD
Compute Greatest Common Divisor of numerator and denominator.
STEP 04
Simplify
Divide both by GCD to obtain simplest lowest terms.
