How third-degree polynomial roots are computed:

Compute Parameters p & q
Obtain depressed cubic t³ + pt + q = 0.
STEP 03
Cubic Discriminant
Compute Δ = (q/2)² + (p/3)³ to determine root characteristics.
STEP 04
Extract 3 Roots
Compute all 3 real or complex conjugate roots.
